Resilience; the art of bouncing back!

Resilience was a theme which we heard so much about during our Listening Project which took place during the pandemic and periods of lockdown.

Being resilient and being able to increase resilience is a vital attribute and is certainly something which I have developed over the years. Life often throws us a curve ball and being able to dig deep and focus on simply putting one foot in front of the other has got me through difficult and challenging times.

I don’t think there is a secret recipe and I guess we all have our own ways of coping but here are a few of my resilient mindsets;

-          Smile, even if you don’t really want to;

-          Be positive, try and see the bright side;

-          Learn, even in the most difficult situations you will discover something about yourself you didn’t know before;

-          Its ok to cry, tears help us to heal;

-          Nothing is forever;

-          Helping others helps you too.

It continues to be a hot topic for us at Well Connected as we are currently planning the next Inner Strength workshop for students at Peninsula Dental School and we were also delighted to be invited to take part in a webinar and discuss the session to dental professionals from many different countries including Greece and Hong Kong. This was a great opportunity and really helped to put Well Connected on the map!

We are excited to be creating new materials and resources which support this workshop, watch this space for more details in the forthcoming months!
