Wendy Smith MBE

Wendy is passionate about all things community and thrives on working in partnership.

Most recently she has been taking part in listening themed projects. The outcomes of these initiatives include broadcasts on BBC Radio Devon, a better understanding of the issues and concerns of local people and developing closer collaborations with organisations and stakeholders.

Wendy was instrumental in the development of Inter Professional Engagement learning experiences for students studying at the Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, enabling them to engage with people in the communities.

She is hugely proud that her contribution to dental education and services to oral health promotion in the South West was recognised in 2018 when she was awarded an MBE by HRH Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace. 

Wendy is a trusted and respected charity leader who blends a practical approach to project management with humour, enthusiasm and authenticity to create award winning, innovative, and effective health improvement programmes.
