5 steps to launching & loving our new website!

February is the month for hearts, flowers and love.

Telling people, we care, value and love them is always important but somehow this year I think it will have an extra dimension, its really needed at the moment. Being mindful and kind towards others is vital and just taking that extra bit of care can make all the difference to how someone feels and reacts especially during times of uncertainty.

Many languages have different words to express distinct types of love, for example the nurturing love we feel for a child, is different to the love we have for a friend, or parent, or brother/sister. Of course, St Valentines Day is often the occasion for red roses, flowery words and sentiments, a time perhaps to demonstrate a passionate love for another person.

Whatever type it is, I believe love is a gift to give and receive, its really precious and should be handled with care.

A gift we are sharing and launching to the whole world this month is our brand new website and we just love it!

We have taken great care during every stage of the planning, developing, and designing of what is, in reality, our shop window.

  1. Our web designers Tommy and Polly truly listened to what we wanted, our ambitions for showcasing and celebrating all aspects of our work. They took our comments and thoughts on board, ensuring that the finished site is fit for purpose now and in the future. Massive thanks to both for their patience and understanding, especially when trying to explain the complexities of websites to a Luddite like me!

  2. As a team we created the copy and content for every page, we wanted to demonstrate the impact our projects have for students, residents, partners and funders. We believe this has been achieved however we are keen to keep the content relevant, new and refreshed, helping us to truly realise our purpose to inform, inspire and innovate.

  3. The photographs and graphics are important too, after all a photo can tell 1,000 words or so they say. As a charity which puts people at the heart of everything we do, we wanted to make sure this was obvious in each and every section. We have given a huge amount of thought about the images which were chosen, we wanted them to reflect our work, our approach and our engagement methods.

  4. Genuine and authentic partnerships is something we are passionate about, we make no apology for this. Partnership, collaboration and working together is the best way to achieve great things. The links and references to our partners demonstrates the value we have for our friends and colleagues, they do amazing work to support and enable others and we love working with them.

  5. We also wanted to showcase the awards, testimonials, and tributes we have received. Each of them, a result of dedication, commitment and lots of hard work.

I am super proud of the website and the journey we have been on to create such a creative and contemporary resource which will enable every member of the Team to be loud and proud, demonstrating the brilliance of being ‘Well Connected’.

I love it….can you tell?! Not sure I’ll get the red roses though!
