To help NIHR engage with residents as part of a wider research project. We have brokered contact with a variety of organisations and individuals, many of whom are from under-represented groups, thereby enabling research colleagues to engage with and reach out to people who may never have considered taking part in research projects.
Sharing information, knowledge and expertise forms the core of the project. Many interesting and lively conversations have taken place with community organisations, stakeholder groups and residents; due to the timing of the project and the restrictions of COVID-19, these took place virtually, which has further demonstrated the ability to stay connected using technology.
We are looking forward to the next steps of the project which will see local people working alongside the research team to increase awareness and encourage more people to take part.
