Hanne Knight

Dr Hanne Knight is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Plymouth and a practitioner providing strategic solutions to digital marketing questions.

Hanne gained her Bachelor and Master degree in the Netherlands. Her Master in Business Studies from the University of Amsterdam and her PhD in Marketing from the University of Plymouth focus on the successful adoption of sustainability messaging in business communications. She has been awarded a Professional Diploma with Distinction from the Digital Marketing Institute.

Hanne is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing where she is a senior examiner for the Sustainable Marketing Module. Hanne is acting as programme leader for the MSc in Digital Marketing at the University of Plymouth and at the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education, which is part of the University of Hong Kong.

Hanne is fellow of Advance HE and is a keen academic journal reviewer and has worked for several journals including Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Cleaner Production among others.

Hanne’s research interests include the effectiveness of corporate sustainability messages on social media and cultural differences in the use of social media for sustainability message sharing. She is currently developing models that help to combat the spread of sustainability misinformation on social media channels.
