As a Chartered Management Accountant, Mags is able to deal with the business aspects of running the charity. She also brings with her a wealth of experience of working in different sectors including the Charity sector, which she is able to draw on to ensure the charity is effectively led. Alongside the Community Engagement Lead, she works with the Board of Trustees to design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures.
Wendy Smith MBE
With a background in teaching, training and health education, Wendy has a wide range of experience in delivering effective and successful community based projects. She was one of the first members of the Community Engagement Team and has been instrumental in the development of the charity. Wendy continues to ensure meaningful and effective programmes are established which support health improvement, particularly for people who do not traditionally access health care services.
With a background in administration, finance and customer service, Natasha has a wide range of skills and knowledge that she brings to the role. This, coupled with her world living and travelling experiences, gives her an appreciation for the needs of people from a full spectrum of social backgrounds and the ability to provide an excellent and professional service.
With a background in a variety of health, education and community engagement models, Abby brings a wealth of experience to her role as she works alongside students and community based organisations. Abby is keen to share her organisational and communication skills and is passionate about encouraging and enabling students to reach their potential as excellent healthcare professionals of the future!
Karen has experience of working in many different dental settings including practice management. She has been a dental nurse working alongside dental consultants and specialists in implant surgery, endodontics, orthodontics and restorative dentistry. This knowledge and experience enables her to provide the clinical guidance and input for community based projects as well as developing opportunities to deliver workshops and training in the community. Karen is an Oral Health Educator and holds a certificate in fluoride varnish application.
As a registered dietitian, Kelley has brought new skills to the team, which increase and enhance opportunities. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with others and encouraging people from all population groups to make positive food choices. She complements these skills by becoming an Accredited Work Ready Dietitian to support healthier working lives.
Currently coordinating the Social Engagement programme for 3rd year medical students & implementing a community engagement project, Becky brings a range of skills & attributes to the team. She has an international reputation in research, co-production, and patient & public involvement, with a diverse range of experiences in co-designing and delivering healthcare education, training & evaluation. She has a passion for meaningful involvement, particularly with marginalised groups & is committed to developing reciprocity between communities & healthcare professionals.
